Hi, I'm Vicky and my career working with young people began almost 20 years ago in a pupil referral unit. I worked as a Princes Trust Ambassador, delivering the programme to students aged 12-16yrs. After 10years of successfully running the programme I wanted a new challenge, so retrained as a forest school leader. It combined my love of the natural environment and working with young people.
I started the forest school as an alternative provision, for those young people that need extra support, guidance and confidence building. My role as Director/manager and forest school lead is multi layered and presents many challenges and successes. I provide an environment for our young people to grow, learn and develop in a hollistic way in a safe and secure natural environment.

Hi, I'm Mel and throughout my career I have been passionate about enabling young people to fulfill their own needs socially and emotionally, learning essential life skills and being part of their community. I have done this through respite care, being a Youth leader, working within specialist SEN schools and a pupil referral unit. Through this last placement I accessed forest school. I get to enjoy the outdoors, fulfilling my passions of gardening, wildlife, the natural environment and working with young people.
My role as a Forest School leader and DDSL involves the planning and execution of exciting sessions where children explore the forest and adopt a natural flow state of learning. The children experience opportunities such as climbing trees, making mud pies, pond dipping, treasure hunts and more. Children are provided with opportunities to use tools and make fires, and my main role is to ensure they are safe and having fun.
